On a cold day in January of 2017, I had the pleasure of photographing Scott and Kristin's engagement shoot, so it say that I was excited to photograph their wedding 7 months later, is a total understatement.

Scott and Kristin were married at the Sterling Ballroom in Tinton Falls, New Jersey in front a wonderful group of friends and family. I love working with the Sterling Ballroom because they really know how to host and organize a gorgeous wedding- they also work well with wedding photographer and other vendors-very accommodating.

Kristin and Scott's wedding was your beautifully themed romantic day-every detail and piece was romantic and vintage in nature-clean style and simple tones. Everyone looked stunning and dapper. Kristin and Scott are another one of my favorite couples because of their sense of humor and how well they compliment each other. Plain and simple, they are by far the cutest of couples. And their friends and family are just as amazing--funny, great senses of humor, loving.

I love, love, love when a couple makes the decision to do "first looks"-it's a chance for the soon-to-be husband and wife to have a private moment with no distractions. They get to take a moment to look at each other, take it all in, sneak a kiss, shed a tear, say something meaningful and funny. So when Kristin and Scott had their first look, the intimacy of the moment is what makes my job so worth it.

Kristin and Scott's reception was lovely. The lighting was beautiful, their floral arrangements and place settings weren't overwhelming, which I like. It's nice to be able to appreciate the wedding details throughout the reception when there isn't too much going on. It's always best to select your favorite wedding inspirations and make it your own-and that's exactly what Kristin and Scott did.

It was definitely a magical day for both Scott and Kristin, their family and their friends and I couldn't be happier to be a part of it.

Here's to forever, Kristin and Scott-

Amanda and Brian were married on an incredibly rainy day, in July. And when I say rain, I mean, the most rainfall I've seen in a very, very long time. Amanda took it in stride, though. I have to hand it to her. It's completely understandable for a bride to become very stressed when there's inclement weather on her wedding day, but not Amanda. If she was freaking out, you would never know! She held out as long as she could until she made the decision to take her outdoor ceremony indoors.

Amanda and Brian's wedding was so cute! It had this complete retro feel to it, with little pieces of modernism peeking through here and there. I definitely felt like I was attending a wedding from the late 1950's-early 1960's. From the wedding dress, to the color choices to the attention to detail; retro was definitely it and Amanda, the "it girl". Her and Brian, a hockey player, are incredibly sweet together and it showed throughout their day. So much adoration and trust.

They say, that rain on your wedding day, is the best of luck. And if you were there to witness the amount of rain that poured on Amanda and Brian's day, you would say that they will have the luckiest marriage on earth.

Here's to forever, Amanda & Brian-

I love working with people like Renata and Mark. I knew that any couple who would have a pie bar at their wedding (obvs) and pork roll sandwiches (How very New Jersey of them!) as parting gifts, would be an absolute joy to work with.

I met them for breakfast for our consultation, where I discovered how well their personalities and sense of humor meshed together. They were a couple destined for each other. I was so comfortable with them that I could not wait for their wedding day.

Renata was every bit as breathtaking and beautiful on their long awaited day. She looked radiant as ever in her beautiful gown and pearl encrusted Converse. I loved that we did a first look before the ceremony, it was so worth it to capture Mark's face as he saw his future wife on their wedding day.

2017-08-20_0010.jpg

Renata and Mark's wedding took place at the Carriage House, and was one of the most beautiful winter weddings I've had the pleasure of shooting. Despite the cold month, everything about the wedding was warm and cozy. There is a kind of old world charm there that makes it such a pretty place to be for an event as intimate as a wedding.

2017-08-20_0007.jpg

Many of the decorations were made by Gammy, Renata's grandmother! She even knitted shrugs for the bridal party to wear. Their families and guests were so welcoming and friendly - Gammy even had me sit and eat pie with her.

The ceremony made me cry like a baby, of course! Renata shared a dance with not only Gammy, but with her new father-in-law. It was so sweet to witness the new bonds forming between these two families.

Oyster Point Hotel Wedding Photographer| Red Bank, New Jersey

For most engaged couples, the idea of planning an entire wedding in just a month, is unheard of. In fact, the thought of it can make certain bride's-to-be experience anxiety! But, for Amber and Anthony, they pulled it off. Not only did they pull it off, there were absolutely no flaws.

Amber and Anthony live in California and while they were visiting their friends and family, in New Jersey, their original plan was to have their bridal shower. The more they thought about it, the more the idea of just having their wedding seemed totally doable! And that's exactly what they did. They held an intimate and romantic ceremony and reception in Red Bank, New Jersey. Every detail was classic romanticism and I loved every moment I captured.

What made me smirk was the fact that Amber and Anthony live on the West Coast-a warm, sunny and beachy atmosphere in which Amber swore she would never have a Winter wedding. And yet, here we all were, on the 30th of December; saying "I do's" and making toasts. For a bride who didn't want a winter wedding, Amber played the part beautifully, with Anthony by her side.

Amber and Anthony's reception was held at The Oyster Point Hotel, right on the river. It's an absolutely gorgeous venue and the waterfront view is absolutely breathtaking. Their reception included every person that meant something to both Amber and Anthony and the simplistic detail throughout the reception was beyond sweet.

I absolutely loved capturing Amber and Anthony's day. I was incredibly impressed with how everything came together in such a short amount of time and look to them for inspiration for any couple looking to tie the knot, but stressing out about timing. Honestly, Amber and Anthony did it and so can you!

Here's to forever, Amber & Anthony-

Alexandra & Andrew Jacoby: January 2nd, 2016

Alex and Andrew are such an amazing couple. Alex and I have been best friends for years, after high school. She is extremely bright, witty and so much fun to be around. Her husband Andrew is in the Navy and while he was stationed in Hawaii, Alex had planned their entire wedding in mere months.

It was an obvious cold day, but Alex and Andrew's love warmed up the day in its entirety. They both got ready at Alex's grandmothers' home and the two shared their "first look" there, as well. Both of their faces were priceless upon seeing one another for the first time, like I always say in my blogs, those are the moments I live for. To capture their "forever" in a photograph, it's elating.

I will never forget the sky on Alex and Andrew's day. It was the perfect hue of pinks and blues, they really couldn't get any luckier as far as beautiful days were concerned. The sky that surrounded them and their intimate, romantic ceremony was perfection.

Alex and Andrew's ceremony and reception were held with their closest family and friends present at a lovely location called Seabra's Armory in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. Alex's dress was stunning, a Lazaro gown, it hugged her beautifully and the fur shrug was the perfect added winter touch. Her hair and makeup held a very old Hollywood look that complimented both her down and Andrew's uniform. It truly felt like the two of them were in a film, they were breathtaking.

There reception was just as lovely and classic. An adorable cupcake tower, friends and family dancing the night away, a candy car and a beautiful "In Memoriam" table for their loved ones who could not be present for their special day. Every bit of detail was just as intimate and romantic as the wedding itself. Just as romantic as their love, as intimate as their relationship.

I really did enjoy photographing Alex and Andrew's wedding, not only because of how amazing their wedding was, but because of the history I have with Alex. To witness your friendship grow, your friend grow, your friend get married and to have the honor of capturing all of that from behind a lens; makes my heart grow.

Here's to forever Alexandra & Andrew,

Meghan Leigh

2015 - A Reflection

When I reflect back on 2015, I think about how truly blessed I was. This past year my business really took off, and I'm headed in a direction where I've wanted to be for quite some time. I've put in a lot of work, and I've loved every minute of it. I've met photographers and other creatives that I couldn't be happier about meeting. If you want to succeed at something, you must throw yourself into it, body and soul.

I have been gifted with the most amazing brides & grooms around. I work with such sweet couples, and each and every one of them tells such a sweet love story and I wrap myself up in their special day. Thank you, to each and every couple I have photographed, I cannot wait to see where life takes you. I cannot wait to see you all travel, to make a house a home, to have children if that's what you wish to do, and watch your extended family grow. I love seeing my couples evolving, it brings me so much joy. Thank you so much, I really have love for you.

When I look forward to 2016, I see success. I see optimism. I see travel. I don't know what the future holds for me, but I know I'm going to take it and run with it. I'm going to make every year to come what I want it to be. I couldn't imagine my life without photography in it, without weddings in it. I want to also thank everyone who has been a part of my 2015, my 2014, and all the years before. All the years leading up to this. Without your motivation, without your positive vibes and encouragement, I'm not sure where I would be. You all mean the world to me.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you! Now....the best moments, memories, & photographs of 2015.
